Description

How (Not) To Heal is an alternative event series that reimagines mental health. This special edition is all about the potential of psychedelic compounds to inspire radical change - an intimate evening of conversations about psychedelic therapy, trauma healing and shifts in the psychiatric landscape.

We’ll be asking what Western psychiatry is getting right and wrong about mental health. Do psychedelics offer an opportunity for real change? Or do they risk repeating psychiatry’s historic mistakes?

Hosted by…

How (Not) To Heal founder, Rose Cartwright. Rose is a writer/producer on Netflix’s 3 Body Problem and the author of two books on mental health: The Maps We Carry and Pure (now a major Channel 4 series).

Psychiatrist and ayahuasca researcher, Dr Simon Ruffell. Simon is the cofounder of Onaya, a nonprofit bridging the gap between traditional healing and Western psychiatry.

Dr Simon Ruffell will be talking about his experiences as a student of Amazonian ayahuasca traditions, and how these have shifted his understanding of healthcare and psychiatry practice. Dr Ruffell’s psychedelic non-profit, Onaya Science, will be hosting a panel about the essential role that community and social bonds play in psychedelic healing. We also have some very special guests, which we’ll be announcing soon...

Can’t wait to see you there!
